INFOTAINMENT FOR THE PEOPLE OF EARTH SINCE 2006

DJ AM FOUND DEAD

DJ AM was found dead in the PM. The body of the popular DJ was found yesterday afternoon at his apartment in New York City. TMZ reports that a crack pipe and pill bottles were found near his body. Sources also tell TMZ that he was distraught over a recent breakup with a girlfriend. He was also having post-traumatic stress from surviving that deadly plane crash with Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker last September.

Still can't figure out who DJ AM is? He once dated Hollywood socialite turned mama Nicole Richie.

One more interesting note. DJ AM's final Tweet was: "New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york ain't always as it seems."

MICHAEL JACKSON: HOMICIDE

The Los Angeles County Coroner has confirmed all the buzz. Michael Jackson's death has been ruled a homicide. " The report notes that the surgical anesthetic propofol and the tranquilizer Ativan were found to be the "primary drugs responsible for Mr. Jackson's death back on June 25.

Jackson's family released a statement upon hearing the news. "The Jackson family again wishes to commend the actions of the Coroner, the LAPD and other law enforcement agencies, and looks forward to the day that justice can be served."

So, now what? The spotlight of blame continues to shine brightly on Jacko's personal doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray. He gave the gloved one the combo of drugs that led to his death. So far, no charges have been filed. Murray remains a free man, but that could change at any moment.

SENATOR TED KENNEDY DIES

It's the end of an era. Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy has died. He passed away early this morning in Hyannis Port after battling brain cancer for months. Kennedy was 77 years old.

“We’ve lost the irreplaceable center of our family and joyous light in our lives, but the inspiration of his faith, optimism, and perseverance will live on in our hearts forever,’’ Kennedy's family said in a statement.

Kennedy was one of the longest-serving and most influential senators in U.S. history. He was also a strong supporter of healthcare reform, which President Obama is pushing for. Mr. Obama is on vacation in Martha's Vineyard. Today, he took time out to remember his colleague and friend.

"I cherished his confidence and momentous support in my race for the presidency. And even as he waged a valiant struggle with a mortal illness, I've profited as president from his encouragement and wisdom," Mr. Obama said.

Ted Kennedy was the last surviving brother of the Kennedy clan. His sister, Eunice, died about two weeks ago. So far, no word on when a funeral will be held for Kennedy.

GARY COLEMAN'S NEW JOB

Pint-sized actor Gary Coleman has a new gig. He's endorsing Canadian french fry company, New York Fries, in a series of print and billboard ads across the country. The copy reads, "After 25 years some things are still fresh." New York Fries says they went through a list of old school celebs and decided on Coleman because people still have affection for him. No word on how much Coleman is banking off the ads.

BREAST IMPLANTS IDENTIFY MURDERED MODEL

Swimsuit model Jasmine Fiore's body was found last weekend, stuffed inside a suitcase in a dumpster in Buena Park, California. Her murdered apparently wanted to make sure she could not be identified. Her teeth were pulled out. Her fingers were cut off. Now, investigators say they were able to identify her by the serial numbers on her breast implants. Only in California.

The suspect in this grisly murder is Ryan Jenkins. He appeared on the cheesy VH1 reality show, "Megan Wants A Millionaire." An international manhunt for Jenkins is now underway. It's believe he crossed the border into his native Canada. Authorities have promised Fiore's family that they will leave no stones unturned to find her alleged killer. Let's hope they catch this punk.

UPDATE: Ryan Jenkins hanged himself in a Canadian hotel over the weekend. VH1 has pulled all of its reality shows featuring him.

OCTOMOM: GO AWAY!

We thought we had seen the last of the octomom. Unfortunately, we were very wrong.

Nadya Suleman was back and more pathetic than ever in a two-hour (!!!!) documentary on Fox. The show followed her in the days before and after she gave birth to eight children. The opening scene, showed Octo putting on lipstick for the cameras before bringing the first of her flock home. Real nice.

They teased never-before-seen video of the delivery, but I didn't stick around to watch. I suspect few others did too. 10 minutes was enough. This special was about four months too late. No one cares anymore. Would someone just find those kids a better home?

Usher is looking to strike gold with some young, new talent. Meet Justin Bieber. He's only 15 years old. Born in Ontario, Canada, Bieber started singing just three years ago. He was discovered on YouTube after posting videos from a local singing competition. His big break came when he met Usher by chance. He auditioned and was offered a recording contract by Island Def Jam's L.A. Reid. This is his first single, "One Time." Bieber's album, "My World," will be released later this year. Gotta say, this song is pretty catchy. Maybe Usher has the next Jesse McCartney on his hands. Judge for yourself.

STUDENT ORDERED TO PAY $675,000 FOR MUSIC DOWNLOADS

You've done it. He did it. Only, he got caught.

A Boston University grad student who admitted he downloaded music has been ordered to pay $675,000 to the recording industry.
Joel Tenenbaum, of Providence, Rhode Island, admitted in court that he downloaded and distributed 30 songs. Jurors ordered him to pay a whopping $22,000 per song. Tenenbaum, who's just 25 years old, says he'll have to file for bankruptcy if the verdict stands. His lawyer plans to appeal the decision.

This whole story is as outrageous as it is sickening. Don't these billion-dollar recording companies have better things to do? Did this one college kid really hurt their bottom lines? And how are a select few downloaders targeted for lawsuits, while millions of others are getting away with it? This kid's life is turned upside-down, all so record companies can make an example out of him.
Completely unfair.
