INFOTAINMENT FOR THE PEOPLE OF EARTH SINCE 2006

COMEDIAN GEORGE CARLIN DIES

One of the biggest names in comedy has died. George Carlin died yesterday at 71 years old. He had a history of heart trouble and went to the hospital complaining of chest pain and died later that night.

Carlin was every bit controversial as he was hilarious. He broke new ground in comedy and language with his famous "Seven Words," the seven dirty words that you can't say on television and radio. Carlin said all seven during a show in Milwaukee in 1972 and was arrested for disturbing the peace.

"The whole problem with this idea of obscenity and indecency, and all of these things - bad language and whatever - it's all caused by one basic thing, and that is: religious superstition," Carlin told the Associated Press in 2004. "There's an idea that the human body is somehow evil and bad and there are parts of it that are especially evil and bad, and we should be ashamed. Fear, guilt and shame are built into the attitude toward sex and the body. ... It's reflected in these prohibitions and these taboos that we have.

Carlin produced 23 comedy albums, 14 HBO specials, three books, won four Grammy awards and performed as recently as last weekend in Las Vegas.

17 TEENS KNOCKED UP AFTER PREGNANCY PACT

It's as shocking as it is sad. 17 girls at Gloucester High School in Massachusetts are pregnant. School officials believe many of the girls made a pact to get pregnant so they could raise their children together.

It all started last fall when a large group of girls started asking the school clinic for pregnancy tests. The school's principal says many of the girls where upset when they found out they weren't pregnant. When some of the girls found out they were pregnant, they high-fived each other and made plans for baby showers.

It gets worse. School officials were shocked to find out that many of the baby daddy's are in their 20's. One of them, is a 24-year-old homeless man. Classy.

This disturbing story comes the same day as 17-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears gave birth to a baby girl.

"MEET THE PRESS" REMEMBERS TIM RUSSERT

Tim Russert's chair was empty on "Meet the Press" this morning. All of his closest colleagues and friends gathered on the set to remember the host just two days after his death. Russert died of a heart attack on Friday at just 58 years old.

Tom Brokaw led the conversation and was joined by Maria Shriver, Mary Matalin and James Carville among others. All of them, seated in front of the show's table, which was left vacant. For an hour, they spoke about and showed clips Russert's greatest interviews.

Russert died just two days before Father's Day. He had written two books about his relationship with his own father and always expressed his love for his son, who recently graduated from college in Boston. The show ended appropriately with a message from Russert where he sent Father's Day greetings to all, including his dad and his son.
