CONAN O'BRIEN'S LAST SHOW
Saturday, February 21, 2009
It's a wrap. "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" signed off last night with an amazing finale.
Conan started the show with a huge ovation from some of his biggest fans. He then welcomes "President Bush," aka Will Ferrell. He thanked Conan for years of "humortastical wonderment."
Conan then welcomed his longtime sidekick, Andy Richter. They remenisced over some of the shows funniest skits. Conan's only other guests were The White Stripes, who performed "We're Going to be Friends."
Conan ended the show on an emotional high. He set aside several minutes to thank everyone involved with the show. He also graciously thanked David Letterman and Jay Leno. Very classy. Conan got a little choked up as he told the audience that he "would never grow up" when he takes over Leno's time slot.
As the credits rolled, Conan walked into the audience. He hugged his fans and passed out pieces of his set, which he had chopped up earlier.

PHELPS PARTY ARRESTS
Wednesday, February 11, 2009
We're in the middle of a horrible recession. The country is at war. And THIS is what we're worried about.
You all remember the picture. Swimmer Michael Phelps appearing to smoke a bong at a party. The picture was posted in the News of the World. Phelps lost his deal with Kellogg's and was suspended for three months. As if that wasn't bad enough, now word that eight people at that party have been arrested for possession/distribution. So far, Phelps has not been charged.
The local police department in Arizona has also confiscated that infamous bong. The owner of that bong was apparently trying to sell it for $100,00 on eBay.

Don't tell grandma. America's hero admits he smoked the devil's drug! Oh, the shame of it all!
Yesterday, the News of the World published a picture of the gold medal-winning Olympic swimmer smoking marijuana from a bong. Instead of denying or ignoring the report, Phelps did something most celebs don't ever do. He admitted the picture was real and apologized.
Phelps released a statement to the AP reading, "I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment. I’m 23 years old and despite the successes I’ve had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again."
This is where this story should end. But it won't. It will be all over the place on Monday. Some idiots will suggest his medals should be taken away because he's a bad role model.
Cut the guy a break. He admitted he was wrong. Let's move on.
