LADY GAGA OPENS UP ON HOWARD STERN

Howard Stern proved again why he's the king of all media. This morning, he had Lady Gaga on his Sirius/XM radio show for an extended interview. She talked about her past drug addiction and how kids always used to pick on her in school. She said money means nothing to her. Her only lavish expenses: a Rolls Royce for her father. Gaga also paid for his heart surgery.

Much of the conversation was about Lady G's meteoric rise to fame. She talked about how she was turned down by record labels time and time again. She didn't get bitter. It only fueled her success that she knew was inevitable.

One moment, one that only Howard could bring about, was when he got her to play some rough cuts of her songs that she had on her iPhone. She explained that her hits often come to her in the shower and she has to run and grab her phone to record them.

It wasn't all talk. Gaga also performed two songs on the piano, "Edge of Glory" and "Hair." She explained that "Edge of Glory" has about the recent death of her grandfather. She said it was the first time she's ever been through the pain of death in her family. Her grandmother stayed right by her grandfather's side in the hospice until he passed. Check out Howard 100 and 101 all this weekend for replays of this great interview.

SHOCKING: SCHOOL BOARD SHOOTING CAUGHT ON CAMERA

MUST SEE VIDEO
Shocking video from a school board meeting in Florida. A crazed man pulls out a gun during a school board meeting in Florida. The guy spray painting a red "V" on the wall before taking aim at some of the board members. Some people in the audience ran out of the room, but the board members stayed put. One brave woman, Ginger Littleton, took on the gunman. Swinging her purse at him. She's lucky he didn't killed her. The guy then pulled his weapon out on the remaining board members and started to fire. A security guard returned fire. The gunman then shot himself, ending his life. The Daily Edition has chosen not to name the gunman. No need to mention this cowards name. Incredibly, everyone in that room made it out alive. Here's the AP's raw video of the dramatic confrontation:

RECAP OF THE 2010 VMA'S

The bar was set very high. In 2009, Lady Gaga had a killer performance, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys closed the show with "Empire State of Mind" and, oh yeah, Kanye West stole Taylor Swift's thunder. The 2010 MTV Music Video Awards had a lot to live up to, but proved fairly tame compared to last year's show.

The show opened with Eminem performing his anthem, "Not Afraid." He was joined by Rihanna for a performance of their summer smash, "Love the Way You Lie." There was potential for creating a really moving, unforgettable performance here. Instead, Rihanna was wearing an ugly tutu-like dress and it seemed like there just wasn't much time put into the performance.

The sometimes funny Chelsea Handler hosted the show. She came out trying to do her best Lady Gaga impression, with an over-the-top outfit. Her jokes seemed to fall flat on the audince for her open and throughout the show. Bring Chris Rock back.

The performances were so-so. Justin Bieber performed outside of the studio to a bunch of screaming girls. He tried showing off his drumming skills, which proved elementary at best. Back in studio, Bieber's buddy, Usher, performed the over-hyped "OMG." Florence and the Machine (I've never heard of them either) sang their hit song, whatever that is and Linkin Park delivered on a dramtic performance of their new single.

You were buzzing about them last year and this year there's probably plenty of water cooler talk about Taylor Swift and Kanye West. Once again, they stole the show. Taylor performed a not-yet-titled song about Kanye West. "32 and still growing up now. Who you are is not what you did You're still an innocent," Taylor sang. Really strong performace.

Kanye West closed the show. Wearing bright red on the black and white set, clearly Kanye felt like the devil in the room. He debuted his new song, "Runaway." It's catchy and ironic chorus, "Let's have a toast for the douchebags. Let's have a toast for the assholes. Let's have a toast for the scumbags." He may have been an outcast last year, but by the end of this song, Kanye had won over the room. All was forgiven.

2009 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS

The MTV Video Music Awards were broadcast live tonight from Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The show began with a surprise appearance from Madonna. Dressed in all black, she was one of the many who paid tribute to Michael Jackson. She called Jackson a "hero" who could make people believe that they could fly. A little much? It continued further downhill from there, as the material girl rambled on and on and on and on about the time she spent with him. She then she felt like we abandoned him when he died. She ended her seven-minute speech saying, "long live the king." When she finally finished, things got good. Big dance tribute to Jacko, which involved his sister, Janet. Really well done. The audience couldn't get enough of it.

Katy Perry and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry then took to the stage for a rendition of "We Will Rock You," that ushered in host Russell Brand.

The most talked about moment came just 25 minutes into the show. Taylor Swift won the moonman for best female video. As the teen made her acceptance speech, Kanye West stormed the stage and said Beyonce should have won. He's nuts!! Very rude and disrespectful. Taylor looked horrified. Beyonce looked shocked. What's worse, they cut her mic so she couldn't finish talking. It's being reported that Taylor Swift ran backstage and burst into tears in her mother's arms after the incident. Kanye's just a jerk. Trying doing that to Diddy and see how it goes.

Lady Gaga is out of her mind. She dresses like she doesn't own a mirror. Her performance of "Paparazzi" was way over the top. It ended with her covered in fake blood looking like she hanged herself. That's great for the young audience. Later on, Gaga was spotted wearing a huge bird's nest around her head and tight red lace covering her face. Just bizarre. The award for worst dressed goes to...

The big award - video of the year - went to Beyonce for "Single Ladies." After Beyonce thanked everyone for the award, she showed the world just how classy she is. She invited Taylor Swift back on stage to re-do her speech.

"I remember being 17 years old up for my first MTV award with Destiny's Child, and it was the most exciting moment in my life. So I'd like for Taylor to come out and have her moment," Beyonce said.

A very moving moment to cap of a wild and unpredictable night.

WINNERS...
Best Female Video - Taylor Swift, "You Belong With Me"
Best Male Video - TI, "Live Your Life"
Best Rock Video - Green Day, "21 Guns"
Best Pop Video - Britney Spears, "Womanizer"
Best Hip Hop Video - Eminem, "We Made You"

VMA PRE-SHOW: WHAT IS LADY GAGA WEARING?

Thoughts on the MTV VMA's pre-show...

* What the hell is Lady Gaga wearing? Also, why was she paired with Kermit the Frog?
* What is Buzz Alrin doing there? Not the right demo.
* Can any of MTV's talent read a TelePrompTer?
* There is no need to re-make "Fame."

* Jermaine Jackson is a media whore.

MTV VMA AWARDS TONIGHT!

It's live. It's unpredictable. The always-hyped MTV Video Music Awards are invading the airwaves tonight.

Comedian Russell Brand is back for the second year in a row. If you don't like his cheeky brand of humor, some of the performers should hold your interest. The biggest names in the game - Beyonce, Jay-Z, Green Day, Pink - are set to rock the house. This will be the first VMA's since Michael Jackson's death. The show will begin with a tribute to the gloved one featuring his sister, Janet. Look for artists to be giving him shoutouts all night long.

All the drama is going down at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. There's a preshow that starts at 8PM/ET. The moon men will be handed out from 9 to 11PM, with a rebroadcast at 11:30PM.

LARRY KING'S EXCLUSIVE WITH CHRIS BROWN

Singer Chris Brown sat down for an exclusive interview with Larry King tonight. It's the first time he was interviewed since he pleaded guilty to beating his girlfriend, Rihanna. Brown has been ordered to stay away from her. He says that's "kind of hard," since they've known each other for so long and are in the same industry. Brown says he still loves Rihanna. He's still in love with her.

King showed the picture of a beaten Rhianna. Brown said he fely "disappointed" in himself when he saw it. His mother, who appeared on the show by his side, broke down in tears after the picture was shown. Brown just looked down. Soon after, King asked Brown to talk about what happened that night. He refused to talk about the beating, claiming he owed it to Rihanna to stay quiet. King then asked if drinking was involved that night. He refused to answer.

No huge bombshells here, since he wouldn't talk about the specifics. Too bad he wouldn't agree to a live interview. Must be nice to be able to edit things out.
