MyNetworkTV DEBUTS QUIETLY
This week, many of the UPN stations became MyNetworkTV affiliates. The new FOX network with the not-so-catchy name offers six nights of English telenovelas, DESIRE and FASHION HOUSE. No surprises here, the network is off to a slow start. Both shows dipped to a tiny 1.0 rating by Thursday. What a surprise: eople don't want to watch the same thing every night. Especially when what's being offered up isn't all that good. I fully admit to watching DESIRE a few nights. It isn't terrible, but I doubt I'll be tuning in when David Letterman returns next week.
DAYTIME TV PREMIERE WEEK
It's daytime TV's premiere week. DR. KEITH ABLOW, CRISTINA'S COURT and JUDGE MARIA LOPEZ all premiering on Monday. GREG BEHRENDT starts his talker on Tuesday. DIVORCE COURT starts season 8 with new judge Lynn Toler and FAMILY FEUD celebrates 30 years with new host John O'Hurley and a new set on Monday. TYRA and MONTEL begin their new seasons on Monday, also with new sets. Paternity test-loving MAURY fans will have to wait until next week for his new season. It starts Monday, September 18.
QUICK HITS
