The O.C. CANCELLED!

After four years, FOX has decided to pull the plug on The O.C. reports Broadcasting and Cable. After a successful start, ratings started falling last season and have been way down this season. The sun will set on The O.C. on February 22. All new episodes will air until then to burn them out. Show creator Josh Schwartz says it feels like a good time for the show to come to an end. “Thanks to the hard work of our cast, crew and writers, we have enjoyed our best season yet, and what better time to go out than creatively on top. It has been an amazing experience and a great run," Schwartz said.
There's other cancellation news today. NBC Universal has pulled the plug on the low-rated Megan Mullally show effective immediately. The show will air through the end of the month with a mix of repeats and new episodes. This unwatchable daytime talker averaged a tiny 0.8 rating.
