LADY GAGA OPENS UP ON HOWARD STERN
Monday, July 18, 2011
Howard Stern proved again why he's the king of all media. This morning, he had Lady Gaga on his Sirius/XM radio show for an extended interview. She talked about her past drug addiction and how kids always used to pick on her in school. She said money means nothing to her. Her only lavish expenses: a Rolls Royce for her father. Gaga also paid for his heart surgery.
Much of the conversation was about Lady G's meteoric rise to fame. She talked about how she was turned down by record labels time and time again. She didn't get bitter. It only fueled her success that she knew was inevitable.
One moment, one that only Howard could bring about, was when he got her to play some rough cuts of her songs that she had on her iPhone. She explained that her hits often come to her in the shower and she has to run and grab her phone to record them.
It wasn't all talk. Gaga also performed two songs on the piano, "Edge of Glory" and "Hair." She explained that "Edge of Glory" has about the recent death of her grandfather. She said it was the first time she's ever been through the pain of death in her family. Her grandmother stayed right by her grandfather's side in the hospice until he passed. Check out Howard 100 and 101 all this weekend for replays of this great interview.
