YOU KNOW IT'S SWEEPS WHEN...
- Kirstie Alley appears on "Oprah" in a bikini to show off her weight loss.
- The anorexic twins return to "The Insider." The show promoted them as looking dramatically different when they only gained about 10 pounds.
- Vanessa Manillo dressed down as "Ugly Vanessa" on "Entertainment Tonight" to see how people will respond to her looks.
- Video of Anna Nicole Smith delivering her baby shows up on "Entertainment Tonight."
- Montel Williams talks to the mother of an 11-year-old boy who's now living as a girl.
- "Maury" teases the return of a 400-pound girl who's lost more than 200 pounds, only to talk to her mother who shows us pictures of her daughter who couldn't make it to the show.
- "Dr. Phil" does a three-part show on a guy who molested his own daughter. The show was complete with video of the girl saying "daddy touched my pee-pee." A lie detector test determined her father did in fact molest her.
- FOX 5 in New York does a sweeps piece on how to determine whether or not your husband is gay, complete with a checklist of signs.
QUICK HITS
- R&B singer Gerald Levert has died at his home in Ohio. The 40-year-old died in his sleep, possibly of a heart attack.
- TMZ reports the models on the next season of "America's Next Top Model" will be larger in size than usual.
- Two frat guys who appeared in "Borat" are taking the movie's production company to court, saying moviemakers got them drunk and promised the film would not be on the big screen in the United States. All this, even though they signed a release granting the company permission to do whatever they wanted with the footage.
- Kevin Federline had to cancel concerts in several cities because of poor ticket sales. He's also reportedly looking to get custody of the two kids he had with Britney Spears. Good luck with that.
- ABC gets the highest ratings on election night, followed by NBC.
- Time Magazine names YouTube as their Invention of the Year.
- "The O.C" is fading fast on FOX. Look for cancellation this season.
- VH1 is looking back at the year with their annual "VH1 Big in '06 Awards" airing on December 3. The show will be hosted by comedian D.L. Hughley.
