Bob Barker is Retiring
Tuesday, October 31, 2006
Sad news for fans of the "The Price Is Right." Bob Barker is planning to retire at the end of this season. Barker tells the Associated Press that his last show will air June 7, 2007 after 35 years hosting the game show. Barker jokes that he wants to step down while he's "still young." He turns 83 on December 12th. Barker admits he'll miss the show and is "frightened by the thought of getting up in the morning and there will be no more shows." A search for a new host has been going on for two or three years. By the time he retires, Barker will have been appearing on television for half a century and he says he's "enjoyed every moment."
