ELLEN'S ON AIR BREAKDOWN
Tuesday, October 16, 2007
A very troubled Ellen Degeneres took to the stage at the start of her talk show today. Instead of her normal monologue and dancing, a visably shaken Ellen sat right down to talk with the audience. "Today is a hard day for me ...I am not capable of coming out and pretending to be funny when things are going so terribly wrong right now."
Wiping tears from her eyes, Ellen explained how she gave away a dog she rescued from an adoption agency. When the pooch didn't blend well with her dog and cats, she gave it away to her hairdresser's family. Since she gave the dog away without the agency's consent, they took the dog from its new happy home.
A heartbroken Ellen cried and sobbed, begging the agenecy to return the dog to its new family. "I feel totally responsible for it and I'm so sorry. I'm begging them to give that dog back to that family," she says. "It's not their fault. It's my fault. I shouldn't have given the dog away. Just please give the dog back to those little girls."
