YOU KNOW IT'S SWEEPS WHEN...
- NBC adds an extra 10 minutes to all of its shows last Thursday.
- Barbara Walters does a two-night special showcasing all her errors called, "30 Mistakes in 30 Years."
- "The Insider" spends another week with the anorexic twins.
- Deborah Norville goes back to her high school for a reunion on "Inside Edition."
- Tyra Banks and her audience strip down to their underwear on the Tyra Show; Diddy lands on the roof of the Tyra Show in a helicopter
- Dr. Keith Ablow talks to porn stars and fat women and the men who love them to bring up his ratings
- This year, there's more than two weeks of Celebrity Jeopardy. Calling some of the guests "celebrities" is a stretch.
- Ellen Degeneres does stand-up comedy for the first time in years on her talk show.
- FOX schedules an interview with O.J. Simpson for the last week of sweeps.
- The annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade celebrates 80 years this Thanksgiving. This year, there will be many new floats, balloons and special musical performances to celebrate the milestone. The Thanksgiving tradition airs live from Broadway in New York on Thursday from 9-12 AM on NBC. As always, the big show will be followed by "The National Dog Show."
- There will be a special two-hour episode of "Deal or No Deal" on Thanksgiving. Look for Howie Mandel to escort a live turkey onto the stage. The show will be followed by a Thanksgiving-themed edition of E.R.
- Sirius Satellite Radio will begin playing Christmas music on three stations starting Thanksgiving day. Sirius Holiday (ch. 2) features Christmas classics; Christmas Country (ch. 62) will feature country artists singing Christmas carols; Classical Christmas (ch. 86) will be the classical Christmas songs like Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker

- For the first time since she started, Katie Couric's ratings on the CBS Evening News dipped lower than they were last year at this time.

- A Newton, Massachusetts couple who owns a bed and breakfast says they didn't mind being featured in the Borat movie, but figured something was up with Sasha Baron Cohen showed up at their door.
- William Shatner's new ABC game show, "Show Me The Money" is sure to be cancelled. Ratings were bad, most likely because the show is sickeningly cheesy and hard to follow.
- Gamers from across the country went on a stampede for the release of Playstation 3 on Friday. In Connecticut, one guy was shot while waiting in line at Wal-Mart.
- Despite low ratings, FOX has renewed Brad Garrett's "'Til Death" for a second season.
- Universal Music is suing MySpace.com for copyright infringement.
