LATE-NIGHT TALK SHOWS TO RETURN IN JANUARY?
Friday, December 14, 2007
Late-night talk shows that have been in the dark because of the writers strike could be back on the air in January. David Letterman, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, Craig Ferguson and Jimmy Kimmel have been airing repeats since the strike started on November 5th. All of the hosts have refused to cross the picket line and ratings have taken a huge dive. Daily Variety is reporting that Leno and Conan are eyeing a return in early January, even if the strike isn't settled by then. Variety is also reporting that Kimmel may also be close to returning. One thing to keep in mind: if the hosts return, it'll anger the union, so they may still opt to stick out and stay home.
