CONAN O'BRIEN WON'T HOST "TONIGHT SHOW" AFTER LENO
Tuesday, January 12, 2010
Conan O'Brien is breaking his silence about Jay Leno coming back to late night. Conan released a long letter (see below) today about the controversy. He says he will not host "The Tonight Show" if it's moved to 12:05am. "The Tonight Show at 12:05 simply isn’t the Tonight Show," Conan wrote.
Yesterday, NBC canceled "The Jay Leno Show" after four months of poor ratings at 10pm. Leno is said to be moving back to 11:35 to host a half-hour show. Conan was supposed to be bumped to 12:05, followed by Jimmy Fallon at 1:05.
Conan claims to not have any offers from other networks. Fox is said to be interested in him, since the network has no presence in late night talk.
