Restaurant Racism?
Wednesday, October 18, 2006
Some people just need to take a few deep breaths and lighten up. Chris Rock's mother, Rose, is one of those people. She's enlisted the help of Al Sharpton to announce she may be suing Cracker Barrel restaurants. Rock claims the restaurant sat her and her daughter down back in May and didn't serve her for a half-hour. The restaurant says it was a misunderstanding, but Rock thinks it's racism. Again, the alleged incident happened back in May, yet they are filing suit NOW, five months later! Why the wait? And why is this racism? I'm a white guy who has had his fair share of waits at restaurants. If I was to file a lawsuit for everytime I had a long wait at a restaurant, many restaurants would be out of business. Some restaurants are just plain busy or the staff is awful. Bad service does not mean you're a victim of racism. Ms. Rock, your son is a brilliant comedian, but with all due respect, you need to lighten up.
