QUICK HITS
- The "Deal or No Deal" two-hour Thanksgiving special promised to be an exciting event, but turned out to be one of the worst episodes in the show's short history. The two main contestants knocked out all of the six-figure money amounts in minutes, but instead of introducing new contestants, the show kept it going with these people who won barely anything.
- David Letterman easily won the night Monday, when Michael Richards apologized for his racist rant. "The Late Show" got a 5.2 rating, Letterman's best number since he had Oprah Winfrey on last December.
- Tuesday's "American Music Awards" won the night for ABC. On NBC, Tony Bennett's music special, "Tony Bennett: An American Classic" got a shockingly low 0.9 rating. It became NBC's lowest-rated program in that time period on 15 years. Guess he's not such an American classic. Yipes!
- The Christmas shopping season is off to a strong start with earnings up over last year on Black Friday.
"Boston" -- Augustana
This song was released on alt/rock stations over the summer but is now climbing on the pop charts.
