LETTERMAN VS. O'REILLY: ROUND TWO
More fireworks as Bill O'Reilly appeared on David Letterman again last night. Earlier in the year, Letterman made headlines when he sharply criticized O'Reilly's stance on Iraq on his show. It was more of the same last night as Letterman went after the FOX News host from the moment he sat down. O'Reilly tried to break bread with Letterman by coming out with a toy sword and shield. But Letterman didn't want to play, saying: " "You guys over there at Fox and guys like Rush Limbaugh, you guys know it's all just a goof, right? You're just horsing around. You're doing it 'cause you know it'll be entertaining?"
Things got heated again later when the topic of Iraq came up again. "It isn't so black and white, Dave -- it isn't, 'We're a bad country. Bush is an evil liar.' That's not true," O'Reilly said. Letterman responds: "I didn't say he was an evil liar. You're putting words in my mouth, just the way you put artificial facts in your head!"
O'Reilly appeared on "Oprah" earlier in the day. It's too bad Letterman couldn't have had the same type of intelligent conversation with O'Reilly as Oprah did.
